Proper door sealing is critical to maintaining performance and safety on a SITEK / Semitool / Rhetech Spin Rinse Dryer. In this guide, we walk through the process of replacing the door window and the door seal, using an 880 model as an example. The process is similar across all SRD models.

Tools You May Need:

  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Small Allen wrench (for window inlet set screw)
  • Needle-nose pliers or channel locks (optional)

1. Remove the Old Door Window

  1. Secure the window to prevent it from dropping into the bowl or falling.
  2. Loosen all screws with a flathead screwdriver—most windows have 4, 6, or 8 screws.
  3. Carefully remove the window, making sure not to lose the quad seal ring between the window and door.

2. Prepare and Install the New Window

  1. Identify the correct inlet hole by aligning the new window with the door or referencing the old window.
  2. Remove the set screw inside the unused inlet hole with a small Allen wrench.
  3. Hold the window in place and align the holes.
  4. Reinstall the screws – tighten securely but do not overtighten, as this may crack the window.
  5. Check for gaps to confirm the window sits flush and sealed.

3. Install the New Door Seal

  1. Start placing the seal at one edge of the door channel.
  2. Work the seal around the entire perimeter, gently pressing it into the groove.
  3. Use needle-nose pliers if needed to reposition – but take care not to puncture the seal.
  4. Ensure the seal is fully seated and snug throughout.

4. Verify the Door Seal

A. Using the SITEK SlickDevice Controller:

  1. From the main menu, enter your password and navigate to Manual Mode.
  2. Acknowledge the warnings.
  3. Go to the Valves menu and actuate the door seal valve.
  4. Confirm that the door seals and unseals correctly.

B. During a Process:

Start a rinse process—the door should seal automatically at the beginning of the cycle.
