Tools You May Need:
- 5/16″ wrench
- Flush cutters
- Pliers or needle-nose pliers
- Teflon tape
1. Disconnect Existing Valve Connections
- Remove the two caps and ferrules from the branch tee on the valve.
- Disconnect the quick fittings from the 20 PSI pressure switch.
- Disconnect the N2 supply line at the bottom of the N2 distribution manifold.
- Use pliers to carefully remove the soft tubing for the anti-static and labyrinth seal lines.
If the tubing is too tight, use flush cutters to trim it.
2. Disconnect Solenoid Air Lines
- Remove the two air lines coming from the solenoid bank.
These should slide off more easily due to smaller barb sizes. - Label or set aside lines to remember orientation.
For example, keep the top solenoid line physically higher to recall its position.
3. Remove the Old Valve
- Use a 5/16″ wrench to remove the valve mounting hardware from the process bowl.
- If needed, unscrew the branch tee or fittings from the removed valve.
Note: These components do not come with replacement valves, so you will need to transfer them.
4. Prepare the New Valve
- Apply Teflon tape to all threaded connections (e.g., branch tee, heater cartridge fitting).
- Install all transferred fittings onto the new valve before reinstallation.
5. Install the New Valve
- Reconnect the valve bracket to the process bowl and hand-tighten the mounting hardware.
- Reinstall the air lines:
- Top barb on the solenoid bank connects to the bottom barb on the valve.
- Bottom barb on the solenoid bank connects to the top barb on the valve.
- Reconnect tubing for:
- Anti-static line
- Labyrinth seal
- Reattach the quick-connect fittings to the 20 PSI switch.
- Reconnect the N2 supply line to the valve and tighten caps and ferrules.
The valve is now reinstalled and ready for use.
