Replacing Static Eliminator
This article walks you through the process of removing and installing a static eliminator (anti-static unit) on a SITEK / Semitool / Rhetech Spin Rinse Dryer.
This guide covers both the legacy CY20 unit and the current SITEK replacement with a separate power module.

Tools Needed
- Wrench for top nuts
- Wire crimpers (for connector pins)
- Zip ties (for cable management)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Identify your anti-static unit style
There are two common types:
- CY20 (Discontinued): A single-piece unit with an integrated power connection and one air line.
- SITEK Static Eliminator: A modern two-piece system with separate probe and power module.
To Remove the CY20 Unit:
2. Disconnect the 3-pin power plug
Press the side tabs and unplug the connector.
3. Remove the probe assembly
Unscrew the two nuts securing the anti-static to the bowl lid.
4. Disconnect the N₂ airline
Trace the airline from the probe down to the IN distribution manifold and remove it.
To Install the New SITEK Static Eliminator:
5. Install the probe
Secure the new probe unit to the SRD bowl lid using the two top nuts.
6. Route the N₂ airline
Connect the provided air line to the probe inlet, run it through the tool, and connect it to the N₂ distribution manifold.
7. Mount the power module
Use the supplied velcro to secure the module to the baseplate, avoiding interference with tubing or moving parts.
8. Connect power
- The harness plug remains in the system.
- Crimp male pins onto the two power wires and insert them into the connector housing.
9. Connect the probe leads
Plug the probe wires into the matching connectors on the power unit until they click into place. Use the provided clips or zip ties to bundle any slack.
10. Test functionality
If your SRD is equipped with a SITEK SlickDevice™ Controller, navigate to the Anti-Static Test feature in the controller menu to verify the system is functioning properly.
